Jigumi Coffee Table
The Jigumi Coffee Table takes it’s name from the foundational grid (jigumi) used in the making of traditional Japanese shoji screens. From this foundation a number of geometric patterns can be formed. This coffee table is designed with an inset grid set below a glass top, and can be configured with a variety of custom patterns.
Shown here are three variations of the coffee table, made of hard maple and basswood, using traditional joinery (glass top removed for photos).
This table can be customized using different wood species and a variety of decorative patterns.
