These 11-sided plates have been turned on the lathe, carved with gouges on the inside, and smoothed with hand planes around the edges and backside. (Note, these are a small batch production item and the grain of may differ slightly from the plates pictured.)
Made from Japanese cherry (sakura).
Available natural or with an iron acetate stain.

Coated with Hassui Ceramic (liquid glass)
Care Notes –
These plates are finished with a food safe finish commonly called liquid glass. Liquid glass protects the wood from water penetration, but please refrain from leaving your wooden ware soaking in water. Washing can be done by simply wiping with a damp rag or by using a mild detergent. After washing please thoroughly dry with a clean cloth.
After prolonged use the surface of the wood may loose it’s original warmth and may start to look dry. To rejuvenate the surface simply wipe on a light coat of a drying food grade oil. We recommend perilla, linseed or walnut oil.
