Japanese Joinery Models
These Joinery Models show the details, fit, and assembly method for three common traditional Japanese carpentry joints. Perfect for study or simply as a fun objects to enjoy on their own.
The sets pictured are made from Japanese chestnut and cherry, with half of each joint being dyed with sumi ink for contrast.
Finished with a light coat of oil.
3 Varieties Available: kanawa-tsugi, kai-no-kuchi, and kama-tsugi
Other joints are available upon request.
Note: these joints are all hand made using machines to rough in the material, and lots of hand tools to fine tune the fit of each piece. Some tool marks will be visible on the interior of each joint.
