Kumiko Jigs
Sorry Folks but unfortunately my Kumiko Jigs are no longer available, as I have moved to Japan for a few years to study woodworking. Thanks to everyone who ordered from me over the past couple of years. I really appreciate your support and wouldn’t be in Japan without your help!
These kumiko jigs are designed to be used with a chisel rather than a hand plane. Jigs are cut at 45, 67.5, and 22.5 degrees, the three angles needed to make the popular asa-no-ha kumiko pattern among many others. Each jig has a stop that is adjustable with a brass thumb screw, and additional holes are drilled so the stop can be moved to accommodate a variety of kumiko lengths. Jigs cut to other angles are also available upon request.
Jigs are made using white oak with cherry or beech stops.
Each jig measures approximately 10″ x 2.25″ x 1.25″
Jigs are $40 each, or $100 for the set of 3.
Please note, jigs are sized for kumiko around 1/2″ wide by 1/8″ thick. If you are working with pieces of larger dimension please contact me before ordering.
