Soroban Kumiko Trivet

These kumiko trivets are made of interlocked strips of walnut.  The traditional Japanese pattern (called soroban-kuzushi), is based on a Japanese abacus.

Crafted by hand using the techniques for making shoji screens, these trivets are a perfect addition to the kitchen or dining room.
